More details on Edelman's research on capitalism

For the Edelman study to be carried out, 34 thousand people were interviewed in 28 countries. Thailand and India are the nations that most believe that capitalism “is doing more harm than good to society”. This is because, in these countries, the approval percentages for this statement were 75% and 74% respectively. In contrast, the countries that had the greatest disagreement were Japan (35%) and Hong Kong (45%).

In Brazil, 57% agreed with the statement. Thus, our country ranks 12th on the list of the most dissatisfied with capitalism. The research also reveals that only 18% of the informants are happy with capitalism. In contrast, 48% of respondents said the system is “not working” for them. There are also those who have stayed on the fence. 34% of people did not give their opinion.

As for the problems of capitalism, 74% of the informants stated that it is the feeling of injustice. In addition, 73% indicated the desire for change, 66% indicated a lack of confidence and 26%, a lack of hope.
